Only six of the 151 pricey residential lots at Camarillo’s Spanish Hills Golf and Country Club have been sold so far, but 450 country club memberships have been sold, according to the development’s marketing coordinator, Ty McCutcheon.

The one-acre-plus lots start at $290,000 and go up to $650,000. Members’ initiation fees range from $2,000 to $55,000, depending on privileges.

“Some people think we’re crazy, selling lots at these prices in this market,” McCutcheon said. “Actually, we’re satisfied at the way things are going. We have several deals pending, and we expect to start building condominiums early next year.”
