Nearly 1,000 Simi Valley workers are expected at Schlumberger Technologies today in Simi Valley for a lunch aimed at helping them find ride-share partners on Thursdays.

The employees of Schlumberger and other area businesses will wear color-coded tags based upon where they live, making it easy for them to identify possible driving partners as they enjoy food, music, entertainment and prizes, said Team Rideshare spokeswoman Pam Hill.

The event will run from 11:45 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Schlumberger’s plant at 85 Moreland Drive.

“The greatest barrier to ride-sharing is getting people to find partners that they feel comfortable riding with,” said Hill, who has staged five or six similar events that usually match up about 300 people.

“It’s going beyond telling people to ride-share, it’s actually providing them with an easy way to find someone to ride-share with,” she said.
