Irvine : UCI Professor Shares Research Award

A UC Irvine biological chemistry professor is a member of an international research team that on Wednesday won the National Medical Research Award.

Prof. John Wasmuth will share the prestigious award with six other scientists. The seven make up the Huntington’s Disease Collaborative Research Group.

The group was honored for discovering the gene responsible for Huntington’s disease.

The award was presented by the National Health Council.
