Leslie’s Poolmart Reports 21% Sales Growth

Leslie’s Poolmart said its preliminary August sales rose 21% to $12.6 million compared with $10.4 million in the same month last year.
The Chatsworth-based retailer of swimming-pool supplies said its year-to-date sales through August climbed 28% to $96.5 million from $75.3 million in the first eight months of 1992.
Sales during August at stores that had been open at least one year rose 8% compared with the same month a year earlier, according to the preliminary figures. That performance resulted in a year-to-date 13% increase in Leslie’s comparable-store sales.
