Interlink Finalizes Computer Parts Deal

Camarillo-based Interlink Electronics Inc. has made a deal to provide sensors for computer pointing sticks produced by Lexmark International Inc., a supplier for IBM and other computer manufacturers.

The agreement should result in several million dollars’ worth of new business for Interlink in the next two years, the company said. Shipments are expected to start sometime this fall.

“It’s by far the most significant thing that’s happened to us since we moved here,” said E. Michael Thoben, Interlink’s president. The firm moved to Ventura County from Carpinteria last May.

Interlink, which holds a number of patents on touch-sensitive devices, had revenues of $2.3 million in the first half of 1993.

Lexmark, based in Greenwich, Conn., is a former division of IBM with more than $2 billion in annual sales.
