Lockheed-Russian Venture Gets First Customer: Lockheed-Khrunichev-Energia International, formed this year to provide space-launch services using Russian-built Proton rockets, signed an agreement under which it will launch up to five commercial satellites made by Loral Corp. The first launch is scheduled for late 1995, with the satellite lifting off from the state of Kazakhstan. The venture between Lockheed and Khrunichev, one of Russia’s leading aerospace operations, is among the most significant linkups between U.S. and Russian defense firms.
