Magazines : Newsletter Eases Infertility Pains

Share

After seven years of treatment for infertility, Beverley Sherid finally got her baby. But she never got over the pain, desperation and out-of-control feelings that had plagued her in the quest for motherhood.

The only thing that had seemed to help Sherid--and so many of the 2 1/2 million infertile couples in this country--was information. But articles geared for the general public were too general, and often too sensational. Medical journals, on the other hand, were too technical.

So Sherid, a veteran of the publishing business, decided to launch a bimonthly newsletter that would summarize current medical literature for fertility patients--as well as for doctors, nurses and other health professionals.

Sherid publishes The Parkway Fertility Report from her home outside New York City. She also cares for Gregory, 3.

“I don’t think women ever stop being affected by the infertility experience,” Sherid says.
