Abandoned Wells Now Producing Oil

A Venezuelan joint venture that includes Oxnard-based Benton Oil and Gas Co. has completed an 11-mile pipeline and is delivering 1,500 barrels a day, Benton announced.
The oil is being produced by eight formerly abandoned wells that the partnership, Benton-Vinccler, returned to production in eastern Venezuela.
Benton said it will expand its plans in the Uracoa field and will drill nine new wells instead of three.
