County Budget
It certainly would have been interesting reporting if you would have given us a few examples of how Los Angeles County managers reduced their department costs by $125 million (Sept. 15). That is some bunch of pennies! It must have given the Board of Supervisors the idea that county costs could really be drastically reduced. Imagine how much more money than $125 million could be diverted to all those other necessary public services if those managers tried to pinch more pennies. SIMON ZIMMELMAN Los Angeles
