The South Bay Chamber Music Society begins its 1993-94 season Sunday with a free concert featuring the Weiss Duo, a husband-and-wife duo who will perform violin and piano sonatas by Leclair, Mozart, Debussy and Grieg.

The concert, at Harbor College in Wilmington, is the first of 10 scheduled for the society’s 1993-94 year. Erwin Fishman, president of the society’s board, said the chamber music group tries to offer “very special artists” to launch each season. In the Weiss Duo, he said, concert-goers will be treated to “world-class artists.”

Sidney Weiss, principal concertmaster of the Los Angeles Philharmonic, and pianist Jeanne Weiss have performed as a duo since the late ‘60s, in Europe and the United States.
