IN BRIEF : Mature Driver Course Reduces Insurance Cost

The Responsible Driver Course Home Study Edition for senior citizens with good driving records is now available in by mail. This course is a special project of the DMV Research Department in Sacramento.

Motorists read the study book and complete a quiz-survey to receive the official DMV Mature Driver Improvement Certificate. The certificate is submitted to the insurance agent or company for a 5% or more auto insurance discount good for three years. Check with insurance carrier to determine eligibility and discount amount.
