Susie’s Deals Emerges from Chapter 11: The young-women’s off-price apparel retail chain, based in the City of Industry, said it was forced to file for bankruptcy protection in December, 1992, because it had long-term leases on some unprofitable stores. The company, which had 80 stores before the filing, is now a 50-store chain with operations in California, Arizona and Nevada.
