Defense Firm’s Workers to Return: Sargent-Fletcher Co., an El Monte-based producer of fuel tanks and other military aircraft gear, said the 80% of its employees who were temporarily laid off are expected to return to work today. The company, with 350 workers overall, cited “a temporary cash-flow problem” for the layoff that began Sept. 23. But Sargent-Fletcher said it “has no intention of ceasing operations” and that the shutdown “should have no significant impact” on its shipments.
