Robert Tilton, whose television ministry came under fire over allegations that he trashed prayer requests and kept the money, is taking his programs off the air.

Tilton’s “Success-N-Life” and live broadcasts from his Word of Faith World Outreach Center in a Dallas suburb will not be shown after Oct. 29, Tilton attorney J. C. Joyce said Wednesday.

He said about 150 ministry employees were fired Tuesday, bringing to more than 750 the number of employees laid off since ABC-TV’s “PrimeTime Live” report two years ago. That will leave 32 employees.

The report alleged that Tilton never prayed personally over each letter he solicited, and that a processing company threw out prayer requests after contributions were deposited.

Numerous fraud lawsuits followed the ABC report, alleging that Tilton continued to seek donations from people who had recently died.
