NCR Announces Retirement Plan: Dayton, Ohio-based NCR Corp. said it instituted an early-retirement plan that could lead to as many as 5,500 workers retiring. Under the program, NCR employees who are 50 years old and have 10 years of service as of Dec. 31, 1993, will receive a package of enhanced benefits if they notify NCR of their intent to retire Jan. 1. Notification should be made between Nov. 1 and Dec. 17. Of the 27,000 people employed by NCR in the United States, about 5,500 are eligible for the program, said NCR, a subsidiary of American Telephone & Telegraph Co.
