Puckett has been appointed executive vice president of the National Academies Corp., making him the local senior representative of the academy complex at the Arnold and Mabel Beckman Center of the National Academies of Sciences and Engineering in Irvine. Puckett is chairman emeritus of Hughes Aircraft Co.
