Comiskey Park Suit Charges Flaws in Building of Stadium
The owner of Comiskey Park has sued the architect and contractors, claiming concrete walkways were poorly designed and poorly installed.
All but four of 121 slabs on the walkways in the 2-year-old stadium have cracked. The defects do not threaten the structural integrity of the park, said the owners, the Illinois Sports Facilities Authority.
The cracks have allowed water to seep through to finished areas below and damage wiring and furnishings in skyboxes, the lawsuit said. In May, authority officials estimated repairs would cost $300,000.
