CORONA DEL MAR : Brief Power Outage Affects 2,000 Homes
- Share via
More than 2,000 homes lost power shortly after 3 p.m. Monday when an underground cable malfunctioned, authorities said.
Traffic signals at several intersections were out for about an hour, but police reported no major problems.
The affected area is roughly bounded by East Coast Highway, MacArthur Boulevard, Cameo Shores Road and Bonita Canyon Drive in Irvine.
It was unclear what led to the cable failure, said a spokesman for Southern California Edison Co.
Power to almost all the homes was restored by 5 p.m.
