CHP Arrests Man in Drug Possession
An Oakland man was arrested Tuesday after a highway patrol officer found eight ounces of cocaine and about $20,000 in cash in his car during a speeding stop on Interstate 5, said a spokesman with the California Highway Patrol.
Sergio R. Nunez, 21, was going 78 m.p.h. south on the freeway when an officer stopped him near La Paz Road about 9:20 a.m., Officer Bruce Lian said.
Nunez looked nervous while being ticketed and Officer Todd Wise became suspicious, so he searched the car, Lian said.
Nunez was being held at County Jail on suspicion of possession of drugs with the intent to sell, Lian said.
