BankAmerica Approved to Underwrite Debt, Equities: BankAmerica Corp. became the 10th bank to get Federal Reserve Board approval to underwrite both equity and corporate debt securities. Up to now, BankAmerica has been underwriting municipal bonds and some asset-backed securities, but now it can underwrite corporate stocks and bonds.
