Jet-Building Venture Still May Fly: Taiwan Aerospace Corp. said Tuesday it hopes to restart formal negotiations with British Aerospace on a $775-million jet production joint venture. Talks broke down in London last month over the issue of technology transfers from British Aerospace to Taiwan, according to Taiwan government officials close to the negotiations. British Aerospace Chairman John Cahill was expected to arrive in Taipei today for high-level discussions about the future of the 50-50 venture. As many as 3,000 British jobs and Taiwan’s plan to develop an aerospace industry with annual sales of $6 billion by the year 2000 may be on the line, analysts said.
