PDA Engineering: The Costa Mesa computer-aided software publisher said first-quarter profit totaled $74,000, or 1 cent a share. That contrasts with a profit of $1.4 million, or 14 cents a share, for the year-earlier period, which included a gain of $840,000 from an accounting change. Revenue for the quarter ended Sept. 30 declined 5%, to $8.7 million from $9.2 million.
