Strikers Again Disrupt Paris Airports: Air France was forced to cancel hundreds of flights for the second straight day at both major airports because of actions by ground personnel protesting job cuts. About 1,000 workers invaded the runways at the Orly airport and lit fires. At the Roissy-Charles de Gaulle airport, Air France canceled all 500 of its medium-range arrivals and departures but planned to operate six long-range flights. Flights at De Gaulle by foreign carriers were operating, but with some delays. Air France Chairman Bernard Attali said he hopes to carry out the 4,000 job cuts in consultation with trade unions and with a minimum of compulsory layoffs. The airline employs about 63,000.
