U.S., Japan See Trade Talk Progress: Although big differences remain, both sides noted progress toward an agreement to make Japan more open to foreign goods and services. The negotiators hope to settle priority areas before President Clinton and Prime Minister Morihiro Hosokawa meet early next year.
