Day Runner Inc.: The Fullerton manufacturer of personal organizers reported a 24% decline in profit for the third quarter, to $1.3 million, or 22 cents a share, from the $1.7 million, or 29 cents a share, for the same period a year earlier. Sales rose 5% to $21.6 million from $20.5 million. Year-to-date profit dropped 8% to $2.4 million, or 40 cents a share, from $2.6 million, or 45 cents a share, for the first nine months of 1992. Profit for the 1993 nine-month period included a one-time gain of $350,000 from an accounting change in the first quarter. Nine-month sales were up 2% to $49.6 million from $48.4 million.
