Anaheim’s Cerplex Buys Computer Repair Company

Cerplex Group Inc. said Thursday it has purchased Irvine-based Testar Inc., which repairs computer circuit boards.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Cerplex, which had been an affiliate of five computer-part repair operations, also said it plans to buy other companies in the group.

Testar will operate with the same staff--more than 80 people--and from the same location as before the purchase, said Donna St. Jean, spokeswoman at Cerplex’s Anaheim headquarters.

Cerplex is negotiating to buy other companies, including Insert Technology in Anaheim, St. Jean said.
