Lotzoff Goes Platinum: Platinum Software Corp. said Tuesday that it has acquired Lotzof & Associates, a privately held systems integrator and software developer based in Chicago.

Irvine-based Platinum did not disclose terms of the deal.

As a systems integrator, Lotzof specializes in connecting various computer systems together. It is also developing software to help companies in such functions as project management, time and billing, and job costing.

Both Platinum and Lotzof serve mid-size and large companies, and the two have worked together in the past.

Platinum Chairman Gerald Blackie said Lotzof’s 45 employees will be retained.

In Tuesday’s Nasdaq trading, Platinum’s stock closed at $25.25 a share, up 50 cents.
