World IN BRIEF : BOSNIA-HERZEGOVINA : Muslim Force Takes Croatian District

Muslim-led government troops stormed through an isolated Bosnian Croat district, sending thousands of civilians fleeing into the countryside. Government soldiers surrounded and entered Vares, the main town in the area 20 miles north of Sarajevo, after taking a string of Bosnian Croat villages to the north, U.N. officials said.
