SOUTH-CENTRAL : Owners Get OK to Rebuild, Sell Alcohol
The city Planning Department has approved an application by the owners of a minimarket at 4606 S. Broadway to rebuild their store, which was destroyed during last year’s riots, and to permit them to sell a full line of alcohol despite neighbors’ protests.
During Thursday’s meeting, the commission also approved a recommendation that the store’s hours of operation be limited to between 9 a.m. and 10 p.m., that no ice less than three pounds’ worth be sold and that the store hire a security guard.
Chul Jae and Chun Cha Lee applied for a permit to rebuild the 2,315-square-foot store.
