We applaud Lee Dye’s portrait of Jerry Nelson and his pioneering vision to create a new mirror design for astronomical telescopes (“The Mirrors of Mauna Kea,” Oct. 3), which culminated in the W. M. Keck Observatory. However, the W. M. Keck Foundation was established by W. M. Keck, not William M. Keck Jr., a son of the founder.
