Bergen Brunswig Applies to List Class A Stock, Securities on NYSE

Bergen Brunswig Corp. said it has applied to list its Class A common stock and various debt securities on the New York Stock Exchange. Bergen Brunswig shares and securities have traded on the American Stock Exchange since the pharmaceuticals distributor went public 30 years ago.

Trading on the NYSE is expected to begin in mid-December with the same trading symbol, BBC. The company’s Class B shares, non-voting shares that generally do not trade, will convert to Class A shares by Feb. 24.

Bergen Brunswig also announced that it will change its fiscal year end from Aug. 31 to Sept. 30, beginning with the current fiscal year, which will end Sept. 30, 1994. The company has scheduled its next annual meeting for Jan. 20, 1994.
