Students Apply to Medical Schools in Record Numbers

WASHINGTON —
A record 42,808 students applied for admission to the 126 U.S. medical schools this year, and 41% were admitted. The Assn. of American Medical Colleges reported Tuesday that of the 17,362 students admitted, 16,307 actually enrolled. They included 6,851 women, or 42%.
