A monument to the Jews who died in the Buchenwald concentration camp was dedicated Wednesday, filling a gap in recognition at a memorial that the former East Germany ran as a shrine to Communist martyrs.

In a speech at the memorial 125 miles southwest of Berlin, German Jewish leader Ignatz Bubis warned of history repeating itself, pointing to a rise in neo-Nazi attacks since German reunification three years ago.
