Cambridge Entertainment Announces Alliance

Share

Cambridge Entertainment, a nascent marketer of on-line entertainment and marketing services to the airline and cruise ship industries, said it has entered into an “alliance” with Hughes-Avicom International Inc. to provide programming to the company’s airline customers.

Officials at Cambridge, which began operating in Fullerton in August, could not be reached for comment. Hughes-Avicom confirmed the pact but did not provide any details.

Hughes-Avicom in Glendora provides interactive computer systems that airlines and aircraft manufacturers install for passenger use.

Northwest Airlines uses the Hughes-Avicom system in several of its planes and intends to outfit all aircraft on its Pacific routes with the in-seat entertainment centers that enable passengers to play video games, watch movies, shop and order meals. Other airlines installing the system include China Airlines and Virgin Atlantic.
