Associated Press
ROCHESTER, N.Y. —
A man chased by police leaped off a 110-foot bridge and swam ashore unharmed only to be caught after he slipped in the mud.
Jose Severino, 20, who was being sought on a grand larceny charge, was spotted by an officer crossing Bausch Memorial Bridge on Wednesday. Ordered to stop, Severino instead climbed onto the bridge’s 3-foot-high railing and jumped. He swam to the river’s east bank, but slipped in the mud and was tackled by another officer.
