IN BRIEF : Youth Foundation Leaders to Be Honored

Tommy and Evelyn Roberts, founders and directors of the Young Saints Scholarship Foundation, will receive the Community Service Award at the Sixth Annual NAACP Theater Awards on Tuesday at the Directors Guild in Hollywood.
The event salutes the performances of African-Americans as well as individuals and production companies that have made significant contributions to black theater in Southern California.
Actor James Earl Jones will receive the Lifetime Achievement Award.
The Robertses will be honored for more than 35 years of work with the youth of South-Central Los Angeles. The Young Saints Scholarship Foundation provides free training in performing arts and associated skills for ages 5 to 21.
The foundation receives support from the California Arts Council and the Los Angeles Cultural Affairs Department.
