Giving Proper Credit to Home Designers

Share

We feel compelled by way of friendship to write you regarding your article on the “Designer Showcase Tour” (Times, Oct. 31).

Your article indicated that the tour benefits all involved. The designers donate their services, and, in return, get to expose their names and work to thousands of visitors. It also indicated how guests “gawked” at the towering fireplaces, the sunken marble bathtub with ocean view, the exercise room, the projection room, not to mention the granite-floored kitchen containing four ovens, two dishwashers, eight electric burners, four gas burners, and built-in, labeled compartments for 18 types of pasta, etc. We too “gawked.” It was pretty special!

Since we feel it’s important to give credit where credit’s due, we thought your readers might be interested to know that the designers who were contracted by the original owners to design this masterpiece were Carla Morris and David Rodin.

Although the work of the various decorators was beautiful, we can’t help but feel that each decorator, when choosing the furnishings, had something very special to work with.
