LANSING, Mich. — Two former Detroit police officers convicted of fatally beating motorist Malice Green have been moved to a federal prison in Texas because officials were concerned about their safety.
Larry Nevers and Walter Budzyn were moved to the Ft. Worth Federal Correctional Institution on Friday.
“They’ve been cops for two decades,” said Michigan Department of Corrections spokesman Warren Williams. “There’s probably a number of people in our system they’ve had adverse dealings with, or friends or family members they’ve busted.”
