Acme Holdings Inc.: The Irvine equipment rental company reported a third-quarter loss of $2.2 million, compared to a loss of $58,000 for the same period a year earlier. Revenue declined 5% to $16.4 million from $17.3 million. For the year to date, the company’s net loss totaled $5.1 million, compared to a loss of $1 million for the first three quarters of 1992. Nine-month revenue was down 8% to $46.8 million from $50.9 million. The company attributed the lower results to an unexpected decline in activity in its Texas-Louisiana Gulf Coast region and severe price competition in Southern and Northern California.
