THOUSAND OAKS : Seminar to Focus on Workers’ Comp

Share

Employers interested in learning about recently enacted workers’ compensation reform can sign up for an informational seminar to be presented by the Conejo Valley Chamber of Commerce on Dec. 1.

The gathering will provide business owners an update on changes in state law enacted over the summer to cut down on fraud in the system, chamber President Steve Rubinstein said.

In July, the state Legislature passed a major overhaul of the workers’ compensation system intended to cut $1.5 billion from the cost of the $11-billion-a-year system, mainly at the expense of doctors, lawyers, rehabilitation specialists and others.
