CONEJO VALLEY : Food Bank Gets Help From Local Donors

Share

Members of the Conejo Valley Chamber of Commerce have delivered a truckload of Thanksgiving supplies to a local food bank at the end of a two-week drive to collect holiday food for the needy.

“Everything helps at this time of year, especially when we are facing more people in need than ever before,” said Pauline Saterbo, an official with the Manna Conejo Valley Food Bank. “It’s just wonderful.”

Saterbo said chamber members delivered the equivalent of 10 grocery carts full of dried and canned goods Friday, as well as whole turkeys donated by local businesses, including Howard Johnson and Ralphs Grocery Co.

Dyan Sage, a chamber employee, said she was pleased at how eager residents were to donate.

“It’s a community effort,” she said. “People really got together and helped each other.”
