Apple and Fujitsu to Develop Software: Cupertino, Calif.-based Apple Computer Inc. and Japan’s Fujitsu Ltd. agreed to develop compatible multimedia software for their respective operating systems: Apple’s Macintosh and Fujitsu’s FM TOWNS. Under the agreement, the two firms will also exchange data on the distribution of CD-ROM titles and assist independent software vendors in developing common applications for both systems. No payments are involved for the data exchange, but Fujitsu will pay Apple a licensing fee for the QuickTime software.
