DONE DEALS: Look for Jerry Moss and Herb Alpert, who built A&M; Records into one of the most successful ventures in the industry, to launch another label with Warner Bros.’ sister label Atlantic. Alpert and Moss sold A&M;, home over the years to such acts as the Police, Janet Jackson and Peter Frampton, to PolyGram for $500 million in 1989 and left their posts at the company in June. . . .

Atlantic is also negotiating a pact with hot pop producer and songwriter David Foster, whose credits range from Whitney Houston to Barbra Streisand. Under the reported deal, Foster would produce records exclusively for the Atlantic Group, which includes EastWest, Interscope and Atlantic.
