AST Appoints VP for European Market, Director in Ireland

* Sean Corkery has been appointed vice president for European operations at AST Research Inc. and managing director of AST Ireland. He is responsible for leading the company’s Irish operations, which are scheduled to begin in the first quarter of 1994. Corkery had been with Apple Computer for 12 years. He had been senior director, regional operations for Apple Pacific, and he was instrumental in establishing Apple’s European Macintosh operations in Cork, Ireland, in 1984. In addition, Robert Baker has joined the company as vice president of operations for the Americas. Baker oversees all manufacturing, quality, procurement, engineering and distribution of the company’s desktop and server computers produced for North and South America and super-servers for worldwide markets. Baker was formerly with Rockford Corp. and NCR.
