GTE Loses Cable TV Project Appeal: The company’s request to continue operating a cable system in Cerritos was rejected when the Federal Communications Commission said GTE Corp. failed to demonstrate that it would suffer irreparable harm if a stay of its earlier ruling was not granted. GTE had been testing video services under an FCC waiver since June, 1989.
