The Pacific Symphony has revised two 1994 concert programs to include a pair of works by composer-in-residence Frank Ticheli that the orchestra will subsequently record for its first album in seven years.

Ticheli’s “Postcard” will replace Debussy’s “Prelude a l’apres-midi d’un faune” on the Feb. 2 and 3 program, and Ticheli’s “Radiant Voices” will replace the Suite from Stravinsky’s “Firebird” on the March 25 and 26 concerts.

The Debussy work has been added to the orchestra’s April 6 and 7 program; the Stravinsky work will be played in the 1994-95 season. The recording, also to feature John Corigliano’s Piano Concerto, will be made for KOCH International Classics. Music director Carl St.Clair will conduct for the recording and soloist Alain Lefevre will play for “Postcard” and for the Piano Concerto.

In another program change, cellist Bion Tsang will replace Jian Wang as soloist on the orchestra’s Jan. 5 and 6 concerts. Wang asked to be released from his contract so he could make a recording, according to orchestra officials. Tsang take over as soloist in Tchaikovsky’s “Variations on a Rococo Theme.” Christopher Seaman will conduct. Information: (714) 755-5799.
