Chinese Jet Hijacked to Taiwan; 8th Since April

TAIPEI, Taiwan —
A Chinese businessman with a surgeon’s knife hijacked a Chinese passenger plane to Taiwan on Wednesday. It was the eighth hijacking from China to Taiwan since April.
The China Northern Airlines MD-82 with 129 passengers and eight crew was hijacked en route from Qingdao in northeast China to Fuzhou in the southeast. The same plane had been hijacked Nov. 12.
Gao Jun, 25, from Shandong province, threatened a crew member with a knife, police said.
