Beard’s Switch to Fox
A hearty congratulations to John Beard for making the switch to Fox News on Channel 11. His parting shots at Channel 4 said it best: “. . . If you call it news, make sure it is” (“Beard’s Parting Shot,” Morning Report, Dec. 3).
Everybody knows that Channel 11 has the hardest-hitting stories in L.A. After the season finale of “Beverly Hills, 90210” earlier this year, the station’s top piece was a Southland “90210”-watching party. Now that’s hype-free news!
And talk about integrity! It was great the way Fox restrained itself to only 10 minutes of Michael Jackson lead-story coverage as opposed to Channel 4’s 16.
Mr. Beard, it must fill you with pride to be working for such a fine, upstanding organization!
