Soap Stars’ Calendar Sales to Aid Needy

Share

Fans of the soap opera “Days of Our Lives” can help local homeless and disadvantaged families and children while treating themselves, or friends, to a colorful Christmas gift.

Proceeds from the sale of the $15 “Days of Our Lives” 1994 calendar, which features photographs of the cast, will go to three social service agencies, including Para Los Ninos, a youth facility on Skid Row, and Beyond Shelter, a family assistance agency in the Mid-Wilshire area. Bien Venidos Children’s Center in West Covina is the other beneficiary.

Calendar buyers are encouraged to “adopt” underprivileged families served by the agencies.

Both the calendar and family adoption program are the ideas of “Days of Our Lives” actress Deidre Hall, who has been active in children’s causes since having a son last year through a surrogate mother, following a 20-year struggle with infertility.
