Ohio Firm to Acquire Law Printing Company

Share

Law Printing Co. Inc., an Oxnard producer of business forms that are widely used by auto dealers, has agreed to be acquired by Reynolds and Reynolds Co., a Dayton, Ohio, supplier of business forms and computer systems.

Law, which has 125 employees and annual sales of $11 million, will become a wholly owned unit of Reynolds, said the Oxnard firm’s president, Vincent Sisilli. He said Law markets sales contracts and other forms to auto retailers nationwide, mainly in the West.

Sisilli did not disclose the acquisition price, but said Reynolds has agreed to purchase substantially all of Law’s assets and to assume certain of the firm’s liabilities. The deal is expected to be completed early next month.

Law was established in Los Angeles in 1929 by the late Charles Law. The privately held company moved to its present plant on Lombard Street in northeast Oxnard in 1990. Reynolds, which is listed on the New York Stock Exchange, has annual sales of more than $600 million.

Sisilli said that he would remain at the company and that no other personnel or policy changes are expected at Law.
